From the President

It is a distinct and humbling honor for me to serve each of you as President of the InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA). This honor is especially great given that InfraGard is at a defining moment in its history. A newly elected national leadership team and a $1 trillion initiative to rebuild America’s critical infrastructure brings the urgency for action into clear focus. I see InfraGard’s 56,000+ members and its 84 chapters as nothing short of vital to that initiative.

Since InfraGard’s founding some 20 years ago, its strength continues to be the experience, knowledge and passion its members bring to bear on ensuring the security and resilience of America’s critical infrastructure. Every one of us recognizes that America’s aged, over-stressed, increasingly cyber-reliant and exploitable critical infrastructures are the enablers as well as the potential disablers of national life.

Our task is clear: to correct America’s increasingly dangerous critical infrastructure preparedness trajectory. To that end, I believe InfraGard has no equal, and is America’s “best-kept secret.” It is a singular source of critical infrastructure expertise, information, thought leadership, innovation and solution provision that accrues to the benefit of all. It is also uniquely positioned throughout the nation to synergize traditional federal, “top-down,” sector-focused perspectives with accurate “bottom-up,” cross-sector, performance-based perspectives. Our doing so is vital to completing the picture and ensuring that critical infrastructure investments are made with the full knowledge and understanding of “ground truth.”

InfraGard will help drive coherent investment in American infrastructure through its:

Integration and focusing of InfraGard’s National and Chapter Sector Chief Programs and Special Interest Groups;

Creation of an Information Exchange Protocol between InfraGard, the FBI and its federal partners to provide for two-way, question-and-answer-based information sharing;

Fully utilizing the new FBI InfraGard portal and the InfraGard360.com portal (with utmost gratitude for the vision, initiative and resolve of INMA Board Member Sam Khashman);

Conducting of an IMA-focused 2017 InfraGard National Congress, and

Spearheading of an “American Resilience Assessment.”

Through our shared commitment to the most fundamental of Homeland and National Security endeavors, we will transform InfraGard from America’s best kept secret into America’s partnership for critical infrastructure and community protection, security and resilience.

In closing, thank you for the honor and responsibility of being the INMA’s president and serving InfraGard’s members and chapters throughout the land. I look forward to applying InfraGard’s experience, wisdom and passion to ensure the nation’s safety, security, quality of life and the future of the American people. To the achieving and sustaining of those ends (and more), I welcome your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Jeff Gaynor
