From the President

Greetings,

My name is Maureen O’Connell, and I am the INMA President, I spent 25 years as an FBI Agent, and am a very proud former InfraGard Coordinator of the Los Angeles Chapter. I am honored beyond measure to hold this position, and promise to do everything in my power to make InfraGard the very best it can be. The members of the INMA board are an exemplary bunch, and are dedicated to help the IMAs in any way possible. We believe strongly in our mission, and are your advocates for change.

We are moving forward with a new level of engagement, and plan on horizontal, vertical and lateral collaboration.

This year has seen remarkable changes within the FBI, but be assured the public/private sector engagement will be fully supported at all levels.

As we move closer to Congress, we are reminded of the important role we all play in keeping this country, our critical infrastructure and our key resources safe. Each of us has devoted time that could be spent on personal enjoyment to work toward a safer and stronger world. For that I would like to thank you. If not for people like you, many ideas and concepts protecting our citizenry would lie dormant.

My vision for InfraGard includes producing more classes, collaborating with related industries, creating webinars to be collectively used by all chapters, and increasing the overall resiliency. You will see PII (pre incident indicator) training rolled out, which bring into focus the activity leading up to a significant event. Statistics prove that very few catastrophic events happen without indicators that, had they been reported, might have resulted in the event being thwarted. InfraGard members have traditionally been extremely successful in reporting suspicious activity, and it is their “head on a swivel” mentality, coupled with their ability to submit tips and leads, that has led to their success.

The mission of InfraGard is an important one, and I look forward to working with each of you to ensure its successful outcome.

Sincerely,

Maureen O’Connell, INMA President
