From Your Executive Director

Greetings,

I recently had the pleasure of participating in discussions about InfraGard using a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis, during strategic planning sessions with the InfraGard national Board of Directors. Coming away from this, I spent some driving time thinking hard about the organization, its leaders, members and supporters.

As InfraGard grows (approximately 46,000 members strong!), so too will our organization nationally and locally at the chapter level. Our chapters, or InfraGard Member Alliances (IMAs), now certify annually that they are robust non-profit, 501(C)(3) organizations with a functioning board of directors, a bank account, a website and ongoing activities. Some IMAs are large with thousands of members and offer a variety of educational opportunities and activities across many sectors, while others are smaller chapters that also serve their regions and help protect the United States at a local level from threats ranging from natural to political.

The InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA), tasked with overseeing the 84 IMAs and providing national programming including the Annual Congress, comprises a volunteer Board of Directors and Officers totaling 14 individuals. Each person brings unique qualities to our team, and together they are excited and committed to seeing InfraGard reach the next level of organization and benefits to our members. There are certainly hurdles to be faced, particularly technological, but we have the right people to help us create solutions. I am confident that in the next year, our members will begin seeing a host of varied opportunities to network and train with other members regionally and nationally as a result of the INMA’s diligent work. This will boost InfraGard’s role in protecting our critical infrastructures nationwide, and it will also translate into greater personal benefits for each member.

When I pondered InfraGard strengths, one key fact kept coming to mind: Each InfraGard member is working to make a difference in our country’s national security. That’s 46,000 volunteers across our nation giving their precious time, money, resources and expertise. I am humbled and honored to speak to many of you each day, to work with you and to be part of this incredible organization!

Sincerely,

Sincerely,

Kimberly Pratt
